This step takes little time and can prevent a full batch from needing rework.

A small workshop may begin with a spreadsheet. A larger team may connect the cutting plan with inventory software or production management tools. The format can change, but the records should remain consistent.
For example, a fabrication shop that processes handrail tubes can compare its material records over several orders. If the average scrap length falls while the finished quantity stays correct, the planning method is helping. If scrap falls but rework rises, the team needs to check measurements and cut quality.
